TERMS & CONDITIONS

We pride ourselves on providing a quiet, secure, residential location without the party – the kind of place where you go to enjoy a nap, a good book, the company of friends, drinks on the patio, and the beauty of an island sunset. The Anchor Inn Boutique Hotel is not a 'party hotel.'  We do not allow guests under 18 years of age to stay in the hotel. They are welcome to stay in the Wee Anchor Cottage.  Attempting to check-in with persons under the age of 18 will not be permitted and your reservation will be cancelled without a refund.

We will not tolerate any behavior that disturbs other guests, including playing music too loud, arguments or fights, slamming doors, or smoking in the building or balcony.  Other behaviors that are particularly intolerable are throwing things off balconies, or damaging a room.  Any of these behaviors can result in your being asked to leave without a refund and additional charges.

GENERAL POLICIES

  • Check-in is between 3 and 6 pm.  Check-out by 11 am. 
  • Hotel rates are based on occupancy per room of 2 people. The rate for the Wee Anchor Cottage is based on an occupancy of 4 people. A fee will be charged for additional guests as follows:  $150/night/adult and $75/night/child. 
  • We are not a party hotel. Quiet hours are between 11pm and 7am. Behavior that demonstrates a lack of consideration and respect for other guests, our neighbors, or property may result in you being asked to leave without a refund. 
  • We are an adult only hotel.  Guests under the age of 18 are not allowed to stay in the hotel.  We do welcome guests of all ages in the Wee Anchor Cottage. Attempting to check into the hotel with a guest under the age of 18 may result in your reservation being cancelled without refund.
  • If the hotel property is damaged, your credit card will be charged for the cost of repair/replacement per our fee schedule.
  • Guest rooms and facilities are for registered guests only. Unregistered guests will result in an additional charge of $150/night/adult and $75/night/child and you may be asked to leave.
  • Smoking only in the designated smoking area behind the Wee Anchor Cottage. There will be a cleaning fee of $500 charged to your credit card for smoking in other areas of the property.
  • Children are welcome in the Wee Anchor Cottage only.  They may come to the hotel for breakfast.  Children must be supervised at all times. 
  • Dogs are welcome in the Wee Anchor Cottage.  Dogs are not allowed inside the hotel or our food service areas.  Please see our dog policy for further information regarding your dog's stay with us.
  • Parking is limited to only one car or golf cart per unit. If you are found to have a personal vehicle and golf cart in the parking lot, you will be charged $200/night/vehicle.
  • Reservation Policies: 
    • Reservations/Cancellations:  A minimum 50% deposit is due at the time of booking.  Complete refunds are available for cancellations made within 24 hours of making your reservation.  Deposits are subject to a 20% cancellation fee prior to fourteen (14) days. At 14 days prior to your arrival, your full balance will be charged for your stay. 
    • If we are unable to complete a charge for your balance due to the credit card on file we will contact you by phone and text message to obtain an updated credit card number.  If a valid credit card number is not supplied to us within 48 hours of that notification, your reservation will be canceled.
    • There will be no refunds for cancellations that occur within fourteen (14) days of the arrival date. No refunds for early departures or no-shows.
    • No same-day reservations will be accepted after 3:00 pm. 
    • Reservations/Cancellations:

      • There will be no refunds for cancellations that occur within fourteen (14) days of the arrival date. No refunds for early departures or no-shows. No same-day reservations will be accepted after 3:00 pm. 
      • Guests have the option to reschedule a reservation.  Here are the policies for rescheduling.
        • The canceled reservation must be rescheduled within 48 hours of the date of cancellation.
        • The canceled reservation must be rescheduled for some time within 1 year of the original check-in date
        • A $65 rebooking fee will be added to the rescheduled reservation.
        • If you choose not to reschedule AND you are outside the 14 days prior to your check-in date, you will receive a refund of your deposit less the 20% cancellation fee.
        • If you choose not to reschedule and you are within the 14 days prior to your check-in date, you will forfeit all deposits and payments.
        • If rebooked reservations are canceled, no refunds will be given.
    • Any reservations made via Google Hotels, Booking.com or Expedia.com (and their partners) must adhere to the policies of that booking platform for deposits, cancellations, refunds, etc. 
  • We accept American Express, Visa, MasterCard, and Discover. 

WEATHER POLICY

While most of the days on the island are sunny and the lake waters are calm, there are occasional times when the winds can get high or a storm can brew up. When things of this nature happen, the lake waters are too rough to be safe for the ferries to operate and they must shut down their operations. When the ferries shut down your ability to get on/off the island is limited to air travel.

We are not liable for any ferry boat services nor for the weather on the lake.

If you are unable to get to Put-in-Bay due to both ferries not operating, we won’t be able to refund your payment. However, we will rebook your stay within a year of your original reservation. All payments will be applied to that future reservation.

If you’re unable to leave Put-in-Bay due to the ferries not operating, we will make every attempt to provide reasonable accommodations for you. However, we can only guarantee your reservation dates as booked. Posted rates will apply. Guests are responsible for their own travel to and from the island.

All ferry services must be shut down for this policy to apply.

DOG GUEST POLICY - WEE ANCHOR COTTAGE ONLY

  • All dogs must be registered and approved by the Owner or Reservations Manager BEFORE checking in.
  • DOGS ARE NOT ALLOWED IN THE HOTEL AT ANY TIME, INCLUDING THE FRONT PORCH/PATIO DURING BREAKFAST.
  • We accept up to 2 guest dogs in the Wee Anchor Cottage at one time.
  • A deposit of $100 is required at check-in; if no damage or excessive cleaning is necessary, this deposit will be refunded. 
  • The guest is responsible for their dog’s behavior and any damages, injury, or lost revenue caused by their pet.
  • Your dog must be kenneled or removed during housekeeping or we will not be able to tend to the cottage.
  • Your dog must be leashed at all times while out of the cottage.
  • THE NEIGHBORS’ YARDS ARE NOT TO BE USED AS A DOG POTTY.
  • We expect that our guests will clean up after their dogs both indoors & outdoors, including disposal of waste.
  • The Anchor Inn is NOT responsible for your dog’s health or safety.
  • Of course, we know that many dogs share their owner’s bed. If this is the case, please allow us to place a dog-friendly quilt on the bed.
  • The cottage must be inspected by our staff prior to your departure.
  • If additional clean-up or repair/replacement is necessary, appropriate charges will be added to your credit card.   
  • ADA-approved service animals are welcome in any area of the hotel.  We request you notify us ahead of your stay that you will have an ADA-approved service animal staying with you.
